What are the Possible Side Effects or Risks?
Based on available information, extract from coffee beans is pretty well tolerated and mostly safe for a majority of individuals. However, several participants have also been removed from the studies due to UTI or urinary tract infection, and headaches. However, these observations may not be valid as the study is simply too small.
However, bean extract from Green Coffee also contains caffeine which may result in rapid heartbeat, jitteriness, and anxiety. It is recommended then that people who are sensitive to caffeine should be more careful when taking green coffee bean extract. Chlorogenic acid has also been known to be a laxative and may lead to loose bowels or diarrhea. Other people may also experience allergies or allergic reactions when taking it and is generally not recommended for children and pregnant women.
