Here are some positive reviews about Nutricost 4-in-1 Exogenous Ketone Supplement that were posted on Amazon:
“This product works for me, it raises my blood ketones at least 0.6 mmol/L in less than 30 minutes, and it helps to get me through times of low energy. I understand why some websites describe this as a nootropic, because it clears my head, and helps me to focus really quickly; the effect stays for several hours. It takes me 4-5 days to get into full ketosis, and this product really helps that transition. In regards to the taste, I thank the reviewer that mentioned tequila. Here is how I drink this: take 1 scoop of the powder, 1 packet of stevia, and fresh squeezed lemon juice (1 large lemon wedge or half a lime.) I add all of this to 8 ounces of cold filtered water and stir. It dissolves easily in under 45 seconds. Drink it all as quickly as possible, as if you are drinking tequila poppers. Don’t stop to taste it, don’t pause, don’t linger. After you drink the whole thing, immediately think to yourself “Tequila!” The aftertaste has a weird semblance to tequila, and the whole ritual is designed to that effect. Good Luck!” – DD
“While listed as tasteless, this product indeed has no taste. I don’t say this in a bad way either, as usually a “tasteless” product has some sort of flavor or aftertaste to it. This does not. I usually mix one serving of the Nutricost 4-in-1 Exogenous Ketone Supplement, with one serving of the Nutricost C8 MCT Oil Powder, and one teaspoon of BulkSupplements Pure BCAA 3:1:2 (Branch Chain Amino Acids) Powder. Add 16 ounces of cold water and a shot of your favorite water enhancer and enjoy. Great for ramping up if you are about to start Keto and want to get into ketosis faster, or if you had a carb cheat day and want to make sure you get back into ketosis immediately. I usually drink one in the morning, and one in the evening. “ – Cody Lee
“I’m on my second bottle of these and I love them. I tried a much higher priced flavored ketone supplement that was $5 per serving. I liked it but didn’t like how much I was paying for it. These Ketone salts from Nutricost are fantastic.
Because I buy the unflavored salts, I put use them with Crystal Light PURE. Astonishingly, Crystal Light makes a drink mix with no artificial anything. My personal favorite is the Lemonade. It costs me about 50 cents a packet and it makes an entire pitcher. I put my ketone powder into my Yeti cup, add about 16 ounces of Ketone salts, and wait for it to dissolve (about 5-7 minutes). Then I stir it up, add ice, and drink it. The only thing I can taste is lemonade.
My total cost is less than $2 per serving.
Keep the packet that soaks up moisture in the ketones bottle until all the powder is gone; otherwise, you’ll find yourself with a solid lump of the powder. The lumpy powder still works because it all dissolves in the drink, but it’s kind of weird to drop a chunk of powder in the cup.
I love this stuff. I love the quality of the product and appreciate that it’s made in the USA to good standards.” – Donna Angel
“I have taken at least 4 types of Ketone salts. I am lucky if I can see my body hit the first ketone mark. When I take keytones I may hit the second mark after 30-60 minutes. I thought I should check this product after I used it a couple days and I was clearly into the last color zone (80) which is the first time I have ever hit this. Granted I was possibly in close to keytone state, but my body has to remain under 20 grams of carbs to even start to get to that state, and this product seems to have given me the best results yet.” – Michelle R.
“Perfect addition to the Alpha PXP Royal. This is absorbed faster than the PXP but doesn’t last as long. However, what it does do is last long enough for the PXP to kick in. So together you have a ton of energy being delivered at the start of the day. If you have any kind of immune disorder or fatigue, this (and the PXP) will really help get you up and about. Unfortunately tasted horrible, but what can you do… Highly recommend it!” – Steve & Karen
This product has also received its fair share of negative feedback. Here are some of them:
“Nutricost has quality products and almost always the best value. That being said, two issues with this product:
- Clumping. This arrived with golf balls size chunks of rocky ketone salts. I put the entire container worth of product in my Vitamix blender and pulverized it back to a fine powder. Next day when I opened the container, it is a solid block of ketone salts. I have to scrap with a fork to get enough semi granular product to fit in the scoop.
In any form, based on the salt formulation, this dissolves easily in water. Again, the measurement is cumbersome and messy. I have some Key Keto ketone salts which do not have this problem.
- The amount of Calcium in this product is massive. 1,500mg per serving. While Calcium sounds like something we need, and we do, this level past one serving could be considered unhealthy. Google heart disease and calcium supplements, there is a correlation. The Key Keto product has around 590mg per serving. I may try the Magnesium Ketone salts that Nutricost sells; it’s half the concentration of BHB but magnesium is the element of the four combos (of the K, Ca, Na, Mg salts) that a majority of people don’t get enough of, and an excess of which doesn’t seem to correlate to health issues.” – Sheik Yerbouti
“I like the product but there was significant clumping which indicates signs of moisture. More concerning, I just discovered (less than halfway through the container) that the moisture absorption packet within the container is torn open. The container and remaining content now has to be trashed.” – CM
“Just a quick review, I used this product twice a day alongside my extremely low-carb diet for 2 weeks straight, and had no difference whatsoever. I tested my ketone levels, 30 mins and an hour after use and there was no increase. These ketone salts have little to no taste and mix well with most drinks, I could do it in just plain water but to each his own. It does make drink seem slightly thick. It would’ve been nice to have an increase ketone production because that is the soul reason I bought the product. I honestly didn’t even see a difference in my energy levels. This may work for others but for me it was a flop.” – Jessica
“Has not raised my ketone levels at all and i’m fat adapted. Also has a weird unsettling taste that mildly upsets my stomach that makes me uncomfortable.” – Nader
“For some reason this does not agree with my stomach.” – Mike
